I have had my first real-life encounter with ignorance in its full, unbridled horror and it was not pretty.



Abortion debate again. Something is very wrong when a person keeps giving out the same response to every conceivable (hurr) scenario and adamantly refuses to consider that, just maybe, people may have differing opinions from yours. Nevermind that they might actually have good reasons for going to that clinic.

It was like talking to someone who wholeheartedly believed that the sky was green. They need only open their eyes and look up to realize they're wrong, but they're so deeply rooted in their beliefs that the thought anyone could think differently is unthinkable. Even when the evidence is literally staring them in the face.



I'm sure I've said this before, but I am 100%, irrevocably Pro-Choice. Telling me that abortion is the Devil and should be outlawed completely is pretty much like talking to a brick wall. "Pro-Choice" does not mean I think I know what's best for everyone, it does not mean I think the default solution to your "problem" is getting an abortion, and it certainly does not mean that I'll refuse to acknowledge differing opinions. People think differently; this is an obvious fact. And refusing to acknowledge the obvious fact that people may have different opinions from yours, is one of few things that pisses me off like nothing else could.



Okay I'm done being serious because being serious is no fun.
